My Top 20 Beauty Products of 2020

This year has no doubt been one of the worst and one of the most unexpected year for many people with a pandemic, lockdown, not being able to see loved ones and so much more, we've still made it to see 2021 and we are lucky and blessed to be able to say that. I've decided to share my top beauty favourites even in these circumstances as being locked up and away from family and just general life not being how it used to, I've had the time to rediscover and re-love some items that I think I know for sure now that I can't live without. I wanted to share these so perhaps you may want to try them out for yourself in the future and hope it brings you a little joy as it had for me during these tough times. It seems silly to say this but makeup does bring me joy when I'm sad, upset, bored and even lonely so I feel like its definitely worth noting that for me, in this situation that we've had, makeup has been like a friend especially when I would facetime my girls and bond with them over new beauty releases, current favourites, Black Friday sale and more when I wasn't able to met them in person.

SKINCARE: This is a category that has grown on me during this lockdown. Being stuck at home 24/7, has made my skin look quite bad. I've discovered some new favourites that will stay in my routine for a long while.

La Roche Posay SPF 50: https://tidd.ly/3rBErb0

I had heard great things about this SPF and wanted to give it a try myself and it was the perfect time to buy as Boots during the lockdown period began a £10 Tuesday offer where highend products would be reduced to only £10.

Pixi Glow Tonic: https://tidd.ly/3b36FG1

I had the 100ml version of this product and I absolutely loved it. I ended up repurchasing the full size which is 250ml in the Black Friday sale and I do not regret it. It's a great way to give your skin a healthy glow whilst also removing excess residue makeup.

Caudalie Beauty Elixir: https://tidd.ly/38QMV5G

I love this product. I can't even begin to explain how amazing it is but just know, you need it in your life. Unfortunately, it can be quite costly with the 30ml retailing at £12 and the 100ml costing you £32.

Morphe Setting Spray: https://tidd.ly/3aTkkPP

I was sceptical about this product as everyone seemed so obseesed with it but now I totally get why. Its got a super fine mist that distributes the products evenly and just feels so hydrating on the skin. It does allow my makeup to last longer as well.

FOUNDATIONS/CONCEALERS/POWDERS: This year, I've tried and tested a few new foundations however, I've not had any of them long enough to add into this list but I do have some favourites to share.

Revolution Fast Base Stick Foundation in F10: https://www.superdrug.com/Make-Up/Face/Foundation/Foundation-Sticks/Revolution-Fast-Base-Foundation-Stick---F8/p/756665

I finished this product. It's completely gone. It's a quick and easy product that gives a nice medium coverage and lasts for at least 5 hours. I loved it for how quickly I could swatch it on my face and blend it out. I definitely will repurchase this but not for right now as I have many new foundations.

L'Oreal Freshwear Foundation in 150 Radiant Beige: https://tidd.ly/2KR4nPh

This is a great medium to full coverage foundation. One that is perfect for day to day that can be used for a special occasion as well. It's super lightweight and lasts for a long time.

Tarte Shape Tape Concealer in 29N: https://tartecosmetics.com/EU/en_GB/shape-tape-concealer-836.html

A cult favourite. I didn't want to believe that I needed this in my life but then I finally caved and tried it out. It is a very nice concealer, one that I had been using on rotation with other concealers I have. I do feel like this is more of a heavy duty, special occasion concealer and don't see myself using this day to day.

Huda Beauty Easy Bake Powder in Pound Cake/ Banana Bread: https://tidd.ly/3rKrZ99

Initially I had the shade Poundcake and I did use it but not as often as I now use Banana Bread which I thinks suits my complexion a little more. The scent is gorgeous to me- but it's not everyone's cup of tea. I love how finely milled it is and how stunning it makes my undereyes look. This is definitely more suited to baking with however you can use it as an all over powder.

MAC Cosmetics Studio Fix Powder in NC40: https://tidd.ly/2WVwDCS

The hype is real with this product. I love this for on the go and use it as a top up that just elevates my look after a long day and makes me look refreshed.

BLUSHERS/BRONZER/HIGHLIGHTER: I've become really obsessed with cream products more recently and it all began with using the Huda Beauty Tantour. I've since tried cream blushers but haven't used any of them long enough to add to this list. So this was a quick and easy list to make. I decided to just stick to one product from each caterogy.

Primark Blusher in Rosewood: In-store only

A £1 blusher that does it all. Firstly, I love the shade, secondly, the formula is nice and thirdly, it blends beautifully on the skin. What more could you want from a blusher?

Huda Beauty Tantour in Light: https://tidd.ly/2MoWvVN

A definite winner for me. I never expected myself to like any sort of cream product as I had previously tried different ones and wasn't a fan but this stunner was just too good to hate. It is an amazing product to sculpt your cheeks with and it blends like a dream.

Fenty Beauty Highlighter in Hustla Baby/Mean Money: https://tidd.ly/3b4TdkC

A stunning highlighter that I cannot live without. I would love to get some more from Fenty

EYES: Being stuck at home, made it easy to figure out what I would wear that would be suitable for day to day without being too much.

Hudabeauty Matte and Metal Melted Shadow in Private Jet/Shimmering Sunset: https://tidd.ly/38Tl7gO

This product will give you a gorgeous eye look in just 2 simple steps and it won't even take you 2 minutes to create. With one side matte and the other side shimmer, it's a compact product that would give you the look a palette would give. It's an amazing product that I now have 9 of them and I think it's a product that mum's would love.

Revolution The Mascara: https://tidd.ly/3hwaswA

An affordable mascara that lengthens and gives volume to. I found myself gravitating towards this product especially when other mascaras werent giving me the desired look I wanted. At only £8, you cannot go wrong with this.

Elf Brow Pencil in Dark Brown/ Neutral Brown: https://www.superdrug.com/Make-Up/Eye-Makeup/Eyebrows/Eyebrow-Pencils/e-l-f-Instant-Lift-Brow-Pencil-Neutral-Brown/p/735218?gclid=CjwKCAiAirb_BRBNEiwALHlnD2zG4R6zkssEZsG7SWT_hpiX74A7EVtxNWP3fv5PJkEtXF24HoPc5BoCKdwQAvD_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds

A £3 bargain that is pigmented, functional and just amazing for your brows. I love that the spoolie is also soft to brush your brow hairs with and the pencil is soft but pigmented enough to create craved brows. A winner and a definite repurchase for me!

MUA Clear Brow & Lash Mascara: https://www.muastore.co.uk/mua-lash-brow-clear

A cheap and affordable £2.50 brow gel that is clear and does an amazing job of keeping my brows in place. A fantasic find this year.

LIPS: As always, this category is a tough one however, I thought about which 3 lip products I always gravitated towards.

Anastasia Beverly Hills Liquid Lipstick in Ashton: https://tidd.ly/3aW5mIF

A great liquid lipstick perfect to wear under your mask and the colour is just universally flattering. A definite favour from ABH.

MAC Cosmetics Powder Kiss Lipstick in Devoted to Chilli: https://tidd.ly/3pD54uj

My obsession with MAC this year has been crazy but this specific product has got to be my favourite find from MAC. The formula is my favourite from their range and the shade is stunning! I never thought I would be so obsessed with red tones but this one just suits my complexion so much.

Primark Lipstick in Shotgun: In-store Only

A 90p lipstick that is a satin finish and a stunning pinky nude that can be worn with any look. I love the formula and would definitely recommend this product to beginners and experts!

PERFUME:

YSL Black Opium: https://tidd.ly/3mYAjyd

A sentimental perfume that my husband gifted for me to wear on our wedding day. We recently celebrated our one year anniversary and this had been the most used perfume of 2020 for me. Any occasion, or date or event we had, I was almost always wearing this perfume and. I love that he chose this scent for me.
